    Revenue Leak Diary #7

The Business That Never Followed Up

A few weeks ago, I requested information from a local business.

    The process started well.

    The website looked professional.

    The service looked promising.

    I submitted my information.

    Then nothing happened.

    No email.

    No text message.

    No phone call.

No acknowledgment that my inquiry had been received.

For all I knew, my request had disappeared into a black hole.

As a customer, this creates uncertainty.

    Did they receive my message?

Are they interested in my business?

    Should I wait?

Or should I contact a competitor?

Most customers don't spend much time thinking about these questions.

    They simply move on.

The unfortunate reality is that businesses often assume prospects who don't buy weren't interested.

In many cases, the prospect was interested.

They simply didn't receive enough confidence to continue.

    An immediate confirmation message.

    A simple follow-up.

    A reminder.

    A request to schedule.

Any of these could keep the conversation moving.

The biggest danger isn't losing prospects.

The biggest danger is not knowing why they disappeared.

    Every inquiry represents interest.

If there is no follow-up process, many of those opportunities quietly vanish without explanation.
